METS: Trachsel to the Orioles

As reported by Rotoworld and FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal,

Steve Trachsel and the Orioles have agreed to terms on a one-year, $3.1 million contract with a $4.75 million option for 2008.

This comes after the Orioles found out that Kris Benson (another former Met along with Trachsel) needs surgery. Trachsel will likely compete for the 5th spot in the starting rotation. Trachsel was with the Mets last season but the Mets decided not to pick the pitcher up again after two poor postseason pitching performances.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Trachsel is the only remaining Met from the Mets 2001 ballclub. Since then the team has practically been completely rebuilt.
