YANKS: ST 5-0

Peter Abraham's summarized the game perfectly:

The apparently unbeatable Yankees (5-0) won again today when Bronson Sardinha belted a two-run homer off Felix Heredia with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

Sardinha is a former supplemental first round pick who was added to the 40-man roster over the winter. He hit .286 for Columbus last season and is the greatest Hawaiian since Steve McGarrett.

Chris Britton, Tyler Clippard, Scott Proctor and Ron Villone pitched 4.1 scoreless innings to finish the game, allowing one hit.

AWESOME! Though it is very little indication of what will happen in the regular season, it is encouraging to see relatively unknown Yankees coming up big in the late innings. I missed the game but someone in the blogs said there should be a rerun on YES at 7pm est. If there is one, i'll be there.

METS - lost to Cleveland, 2-1.

BOSTON - lost to Dodgers by the same score in the Mets game today, 2-1.
