METS: Ruben Sierra Minor League Deal Expected

The Times reports that the Mets are likely to sign Ruben Sierra to a minor-league deal, in case they need an extra bat. Sierra has played with Texas, Oakland, Yankees, Cincinnati, Toronto, Mets, Seattle, and most recently with the Twins. The Mets are believed to be the only team interested.

I like Ruben Sierra but as a full-time Designated Hitter, he is like Big Papi with a lot less clutch. Still, the Mets could use his bat if and when they are to play American League teams.
